    Obituary:
    Donald K. Horr, 67, Holton, died April 27, 2005, at a Topeka hospital. He was born Oct. 23, 1937, at Oskaloosa, the son of Gilbert K. and Pauline M. Ross Horr. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1955. Mr. Horr was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Germany in the early 1960s. He had worked in construction and as a mechanic, and owned and operated Don's Auto Salvage since the early 1970s. He married Shirley A. Brownlow on Oct. 25, 1968, at First Christian Church in Holton. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Brian K. Horr and wife Jessica and Kevin R. Horr and wife Heather, all of Holton; his mother, Pauline M. Horr, Holton; a grandson, Alec Horr; and a granddaughter, Bobbi Horr. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Gerald Horr and Robert Horr. Funeral services were held April 30 at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with military honors followed in Holton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donald K.     HOLTON Pauline M. Horr, 98, of Holton, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Medicalodges Jackson County nursing home in Holton. The family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3rd at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton, with funeral services at 11:00. Pauline will lie in state after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

    HOLTON ? Pauline M. Horr, 98, of Holton, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Medicalodges Jackson County nursing home in Holton.
    She was born July 6, 1912 at Perry, the daughter of Oscar and Maude Killinger Ross.
    Pauline and her husband ran the theatre in Oskaloosa. She also cooked in various restaurants including the New York Grill, and the Hamburger Inn, ("The Dump") in Holton.
    She married Gilbert K. Horr on November 5, 1934 at Manhattan. He died January 12, 1975.
    Pauline was preceded in death by three sons, Gerald Horr, Robert Horr and Donald Horr and two brothers, Ira Ross and Johnny Ross.
    Survivors include her daughters-in-law, Shirley Horr, Holton and Rowena Horr, Topeka; one brother, Roy Ross, Independence, Missouri; two sisters, Irene Schultz, Leavenworth and Virginia Reiling, Oskaloosa; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
    The family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3rd at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton, with funeral services at 11:00. Burial will follow in the Holton Cemetery. Pauline will lie in state after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or Medicalodges Activity Fund, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P. O. Box 1034, 66436.

    PERRY -- Ira W. Ross, 81, Perry, died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, at a Topeka hospital.
    Mr. Ross was a truck driver for the Johnnie Ross Trucking Co.. He had hauled livestock and grain for area farmers for many years before his brother, who owned the company, died in 1978. He later was a truck driver for the Jefferson County Road Department from 1979 until he retired in 1985. He served in the Army during World War II.
    He was born Oct. 31, 1917, at Rossville, the son of Oscar V. and Maude R. Killinger Ross. He had lived in Perry since 1946 and he attended Oskaloosa schools. Mr. Ross was an avid walker and he picked up aluminum cans as he walked. He was married to Lola M. Hiebsch on Aug. 18, 1941, at Oskaloosa. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Judy Sanford, Lawrence; a son, Tom Ross, Perry; three sisters, Pauline Horr, Holton, Irene Schultz, Leavenworth, and Virginia Reiling, Oskaloosa; a brother, Roy Ross, Independence, Mo.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Perry. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

    Deceased Name: Rachel Angeline Brownlow
    HOLTON- Rachel Angeline Brownlow, 93, of Holton, KS passed away September 4, 2009 at Medicalodges Jackson County. She was born September 27, 1915 in Holton, KS the daughter of Hobart and Ina Thompson Carpenter. She had lived in the Holton area all her life.
    Mrs. Brownlow had worked at Slimaker Dress Factory in Holton, for a few years. She was a member of the 1st Christian Church, Christian Singles, Widowed Friends and Jackson County Senior Citizens all in Holton.
    She married Jesse Brownlow on January 26, 1932 in Holton, KS. He passed away July 28, 1985. She was also preceded in death by 3 daughters, Evelyn Weatherhead, Doris Armstrong and Marilyn May and a sister, Lucille Anderson.
    Survivors include 3 daughters, Kathleen Johnston of Las Vegas, NV, Shirley Horr of Holton, KS and Linda Brownlow of Holton, KS; 2 sons, Dale Brownlow of Topeka and Donald Brownlow of Mayetta; 23grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
    Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends 6:30 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Holton Community Hospital c/o Mercer Funeral Home P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
