HOAR, HUGHIE - Mr. Hughie Leonard Hoar, age 78, of Southfield, NB, passed away at the Sussex Health Centre, on Sunday, July 8, 2012. He was born on December 20, 1933. He was the son of the late Leonard and Greta Mural of Dobson Corner, Salisbury. Hughie was predeceased by his loving wife Ella Winnifred Hoar (Crossman) who passed away in 2006. Hughie will be sadly missed by his family; one son; Wayne Hoar (Cindy) of Norton; three daughters; Sharon Tays (Danny) of Saint John; Carol Tobin (Thomas) Norton; Donna Hoar, of Saint John and his 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and his companion for the past 5 years Valerie Sommervill; brother Frank Hoar (Kay); sisters Eleanor McNeil (Tommy) and Jennie Sleep, all of Salisbury. He was predeceased by brothers; Allison and Robert.
He is resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visitation on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, from 6 to 8 pm. Following cremation, a Celebration Service of Hughie's life, conducted by Rev. Dan Austin, will be held from Sherwood's Chapel at 11:00 am, on Thursday, July 12, 2012, followed by a private family interment in Riverbank Cemetery. Memorial donations, in memory of Hughie, may be made to the Lung Association (NB) or to the memorial of the donor's choice. HOAR, ELLA WINNIFRED - Mrs. Ella W. (Crossman) Hoar, age 73, of Southfield, NB, passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, July 31st, 2006 after a lengthy illness. Born on December 14, 1932 at Forks Stream, Canaan Forks, NB. She was the daughter of the late Percy and Bertha (Corey) Crossman of Forks Stream, NB. Ella was a member of the New Canaan United Baptist Church. She worked as a waitress at the Mediterranean Restaurant, Saint John, NB, for many years. Ella will be sadly missed by her husband, Hughie; three daughters, Carol Ann Tobin (Thomas), Norton, NB, Sharon Marie Tayes (Daniel), Saint John, NB, and Donna Greta Hoar (Randy), Saint John, NB; one son Wayne Leonard Hoar (Cindy), Southfield; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Faye Sleep (Alvin), Forks Stream; two brothers, James Crossman (Joan), Salisbury, NB, and Francis Crossman (Marj), Toronto, ON; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Fred Crossman and sisters, Erma Wilt and Laura MacKenzie. She is resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home, (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. From where funeral service will be held, Friday, August 4, 2006 at 3:00 PM, followed by interment in Riverbank Cemetery, Riverbank, NB. Bertha G. Crossman FORKS STREAM, NB - Bertha Gladys (Corey) Crossman, age 91, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on September 17, 2003, after a lengthy illness. Born in Forks Stream, Canaan Forks on January 7, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Cady H. and Eliza M. (Keirstead) Corey. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Canaan United Baptist Church. She will be sadly missed by her children, three daughters, Ella Hoar (Hughie) of Southfield, Laura Ann Mackenzie (Robert) of Gilford, Ontario, and Faye Sleep (Alvin) of Forks Stream Road; two sons, James (Joan) of Harewood, Francis (Marjorie) of Shelburne, Ontario; 19 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Percy E. in 1982; a son, Fred; daughter, Erma Wilt; daughter in law, Charlotte; five sisters, Theresa Mochler, Bessie Connell, Mildred Black, Neva Maxwell, Laura McGlenn; four brothers, Moses, Oscar, Tupper and Nase. The remains are resting at Armstrong's Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac, (506) 756-3361, with visiting hours on Friday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the New Canaan United Baptist Church on Saturday, September 20, 2003 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Doug Tatton and Pastor Wayne Ward officiating.
