    Obituary:
    Harold Hazen Hoar, 84, son of Fredrick Adair and Anna Mae Hoar, was born Dec. 4, 1921, at Byrdton, Va. He died March 11, 2006, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
    A resident of the Elk Creek community, he was a farmer, plumber, truck driver, carpenter, cabinet maker and contractor. He enjoyed telling stories of past experiences and loved gardening and woodworking.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evelyn Anderson.
    Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Mabel Sigman Hoar; two sons, Harold Lee Hoar and William Adair Hoar of Elk Creek; adopted daughter, Debbie Carter of Cabool; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
    Services were March 15 at the Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home Chapel in Cabool with the Rev. Orval Gayer officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery at Elk Creek.

    Deceased Name: FREDERICK A. HOAR
    WILLIAMSBURG - Frederick A. Hoar, 97, died Tuesday, June 14, 1994, in Riverside Convalescent Center, Newport News. A native of Mapleton, Maine, he had been a Norge resident for 82 years, most of the time as a dairy farmer. He was a methodist.
    He is survived by one daughter, Evelyn Anderson of Norge; one son, Harold H., Hoar of Elk Creek, Mo.; and one sister, Virginia Hoar Tice of Kilmarnock. He is also survived by four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
    The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening, June 16, 1994, at Williamsburg Funeral Home. A funeral will be conducted by Rev. Emmett Wilkerson of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church on Friday, June 17, 1994, at 2:30 p.m. at Williamsburg Funeral Home.

    Obituary:
    Lawrence Sigman
    Lawrence Dewitt Sigman, 99, son of Marcus Lafayette Sigman and Ellen Volner Sigman, was born Oct. 17, 1904, at Simmons. He died April 6, 2004, at the Kabul Nursing Home.
    He spent most of his young life growing up in the Simmons and Elk Creek area.
    He married Ethel May Altis May 6, 1925. They had eight children.
    Mr. Sigman worked for Lock Joint Pipe Co. for several years in Ohio, Missouri and Virginia. The Sigmans bought a farm south of Elk Creek in February 1944. In addition to farming, he worked for Grant Lumber Co. until retiring.
    He loved to ride horses, especially in the Twin River Trail Riders.
    He was converted and baptized June 1952, joining the Methodist church. He joined the Assembly of God in 1959, where he was still a member.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, his parents, three brothers, three sisters and two grandsons.
    Surviving are three sons, James and Elmer of Cabool and Delmar of Willow Springs; four daughters, Mabel Hoar and Virginia Stogsdill of Elk Creek, Anna Hutson of Mountain Grove and Clara Scheets of Houston; one brother, Marcus Sigman of Massilon, Ohio; 28 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, 35 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.
    Services were April 9 at the Cabool Assembly of God with the Rev. Darrell Loughridge and the Rev. Harvey Hoffman officiating. Burial was in the Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home of Cabool.
