Obituary:
Verdona Hoard, age 72, of Gladwin died March 21 at Mid Michigan Medical Center-Gladwin following a long illness. Verdona was born July 12, 1931 in Lansing to Ernest and Huldah (Cox) Darling. She lived in Gladwin County all her life.She worked at Silverleaf Laundry of Gladwin and was manager at DeShano Construction Company. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She married Carl Hoard on March 21, 1952 in Angola, Ind. He passed away in 1997. Surviving are her children Steve (Becky) Hoard of Harrison, James (Linda) Hoard, Debbie (Larry) Crawford, John (Diana) Hoard, and Diane (Jon) Smith, all of Gladwin; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren; sister Marvella Frith of Cal., brother Bud Darling of Traverse City, and several nieces and nephews.She is predeceased by her husband, and granddaughter Jennifer Crawford. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 24 at 11 a.m.at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin. Rev. Fr. Patrick Jankowiak will be officiating. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Gladwin

Carl (son of Merrill Amos Hoard and Myrtle Del Brown) was born on 7 Jul 1922 in Wheeler, Gratiot Co, Michigan, USA; died on 20 Mar 1997 in Gladwin, Gladwin Co, Michigan, USA; was buried in Gladwin, Gladwin Co, Michigan, USA (Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery).
