Deceased Name: DORIS ALVIS STONE
Doris Alvis Stone, 84, of West Point, Va. passed away Monday, Feb. 6, 2006. She was a retired high school teacher, a member of The First Baptist Church, and a member of the Eastern Star #69.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Edward Stone and is survived by her daughter Patricia "Penny" Stone Hoar and husband Thomas N. Hoar of Deltaville, Va.; a grandson Thomas Neal Hoar II of Deltaville, Va.; and a sister Margaret Schantz of Lowville, N.Y.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at The Vincent Funeral Home in West Point, Va. with burial at Sunny Slope Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The West Point Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box X, West Point, VA 23181.
