Darrel Hoard, 96, of Pittsford passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. He was born on Dec. 21, 1912, in Ransom Township, the son of Sherman and Ethel (Lozier) Hoard. He married Berneita Edinger on Oct. 12, 1933, in Spring Arbor and she preceded him in death on March 12, 1999.
Surviving Darrel are three sons, Kenneth (Linda) Hoard of Pittsford, Richard Hoard of Bonita Springs, Fla. and Dean Hoard of Pittsford; one sister, Marie Peter of Hillsdale, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, Linda Kay Hoard, one sister, Dorothy Oxender, and one brother in infancy.
Funeral services for Darrel will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson with Rev. Clyde Wonders officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Ransom Township. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday.
