Mr. George W. SCHRICKER - 113 Colfax St., Plainwell, age 89, passed away Friday (Oct 1, 1971) morning. Mr. SCHRICKER was born June 23, 1882, at Union City, Ind., son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry SCHRICKER. He was a former harness maker. Member of the First Baptist Church. Survived by daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Loreen) HOARD of Plainwell; one son, Raymond of Cincinnati, Ohio; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Mable TABB of Detroit and Mrs. Adine ELY of Richmond, Ind. Friends may call at the Marshall & Gren Chapel where services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday. Pastor Sydney A. Hawthorne officiating. Annie was the 1st daughter of Henry Shelp & Mercy McDonald. Born in Canada, the family immigrated to NY and then onto Branch County, Michigan about 1840. She there married Solomon Harvey Hoard in 1843 and soon moved to Antrim Twp., Shiawassee County. She bore 4 children...William H, Chauncey B, Alice L, and Charles P Hoard. They adopted one girl named Mary that died at 19 yrs old. Harvey died before 1880 and no information on him has been located, though I suspect he is here as well.

Living with her daughter Alice in the 1900 census.
