Ruth Younguist notes for Sally Hodges:
A descendant of Sally Hodges found Sally's birthdate in a family Bible to be 26 August 1776, but her tombstone in Vernon, VT says she was 82 years 8 months at date of death, which would make her birthdate 1779. She was about 59 at her marriage to John Tyler in 1837, indicating she was born about 1776.
Sally Hodges was married first to James Tyler, and second to his brother John Tyler. (Source, Hodges Genealogy) "Vernon, Vt., Marriages, 1797-1849" by Joan A. Hunter in "Vermont Genealogy" lists her second marriage as follows: "John Tyler Etatis 77 & Mrs. Sarah Tyler Etatis 59, both of Vernon, VT" - married by Cyrus Washburn.
Sarah is found in the 1850 Vernon census with her son Samuel Tyler. She is listed as age 71.
