Mr. Horr was a fleet driver for Hill's Pet Food in Topeka from Oct. 24, 1974, to Dec. 31, 1992. He was employed by Penske Logistics in Topeka from January 1993 until he retired in 1998. Mr. Horr received the Ryder Driver of the Month Safety award in September 1982 and was named driver of the year for the Topeka district of Ryder Truck Rental. He also received the one million miles of safe driving award from Ryder Rental Inc. As a driver he logged 1,841,903 accident- free miles. He served in the Army from 1955 to 1957. He was born May 4, 1935, in Oskaloosa, the son of Gilbert Kay and Pauline M. Ross Horr. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School and moved to Topeka in 1953. Mr. Horr was a member of Teamster Union Local No. 969 in Topeka. He married Rowena Wilson on Oct. 4, 1958, in Winchester. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Pamela Petesch, Meriden, and Gail Macagnone, Sayerville, N.J.; two sons, Randall Horr and Kent Horr, both of Topeka; his mother, Pauline Horr, Holton; a brother, Don Horr, Holton; and seven grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Holton Cemetery. Mr. Horr will lie in state after noon Thursday at the Davidson Funeral Home where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home.
