      Will proved
      The widow Johan Channon of Sidmouthe died a feew years later,
      and in her long will dated 19 November 1616 and proved 4
      December 1618, included the name of her grandson Hezekiah Hoare.
      she left money to the poor of Sidmouth and "to son William
      Channon the ceilings in the new house and hall; goods to
      daughter Elizabeth Slad and her daughter Jane, and to daughter
      Johan Clappe and her daughter Jane; to daughter Charity Hardie
      and her daughters Mary, Tabitha and Hannah, various dishes; to
      daughter Charity, four fates and a still; to William Hardie " a
      quarter of my boat and seine nnets:; to William Clap, son of
      daughter Johan Clap, and Tobias, son of daughter Catherine
      Peaton, each another quarter of the same "cocke boate" and nets;
      to Barnard Hoare, son of deceased daughter Mary, goods, and to
      Ezechias his brother, 9s. 8d.; to Marie and Elizabeth, daughters
      of daughter Marie, deceased, to Robert Clap, sonn of daughter
      Johan, and to Nicholas Slad, son of daughter Elizabeth, goods;
      to Edward, John , and rogers, sons of daughter Hohan Clap,
      silver spoons to [Jo]hn Slad sond of daughter Marie, two bushels
      of barley; to goddaughter Beaten Slade and to Sarah Jennings,

      Channon 5s. each; to Catherine daughter of daughter John (sic)
      Peaton, and Thomasine Slade, daughter of daughter Elizabeth,
      goods; to Johan Peaton, daughter of daughter Catherine Peaton,
      executrix and left to her the residue. Witnesses were Henry
      Way, clerk, William Slade, and William Clappe. The inventory,
      taken 28 November 1618 by William Clape, John Clape, Nicholas
      Slade and William Slade, included household goods, shot and
      herring nets, and "wheat in the ground."
