Carlton County Minnesota Vital Records, Death 1950, 144
Worked as a teamster and logger. His wife's obit stated they moved to the range in 1903. He had been in charge of logging operations for the late George Harvey and in 1906 lived in Ely MN where he worked for the Shattuck Mining Co. as a teamster.
The White family lived in Chisholm MN in 1908 at the time of the fire (on September 5, 1908, a fast-moving forest fire obliterated the town due to the dry conditions during the late summer and wood construction of nearly all the buildings in town. Many people sought escape by going into the lake. No one died in the fire.). They were evacuated by train with Pearl having one twin and Carrie the other. They were separated, not knowing if the other survived. They lost all possessions.
Obit stated he arrived in Virginia MN in 1908. Had been employed by the early Grande Company and as a superintendent of roads in St. Louis County. He worked at the tourist cabins in 1945 in Virginia before he retired.
In 1930 he was a grader man for the county
