      Obituary:
      Mildred G. Hoar, formerly of Monrovia, CA and more recently of Westport CT, passed away Wednesday morning in Norwalk Hospital. She was 97. Born Mildred Grace Bishop in Lauriun, MI, in 1908, Mildred spent most of her life in Bell and then Monrovia, California. She graduated from Huntington Park High School in 1925, and was married to the late Sampson D. Hoar in 1928. Mildred raised her son and daughter in Bell, California, and was an active partner in her husband's electrical contracting business. She was a member of the Eastern Star, worked for many years as a voting registrar, and was an active life member of the PTA. She was also a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Arcadia, CA. Mildred loved to be with her family, was an avid baker and a keen pinochle, bunko and canasta player. She also enjoyed crocheting and completing the daily crossword puzzles. Her loving spirit, bright personality and delightful sense of humor brought cheer and happiness to all that knew her. She was affectionately referred to as Grandma Fuddy Duddy by her great grandchildren. She was adored by her family and friends who will carry her loving spirit in their hearts. Mildred is survived, and will be missed dearly, by her daughter, Marlene Wehmhoff of Westport, CT., daughter-in-law Lynn Hoar of Arcadia, CA, her nephew Jack Hoar of Long Beach CA, eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Sampson, son Ronald Hoar , and brother Marvin Bishop, as well as her son-in-law Ralph Wehmhoff. A service celebrating her life will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 28th , at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 400 West Duarte Road, Arcadia, CA. A reception will immediately follow the service.
