      Deceased Name: NORTH PORT - Ronald J. Young
      Ronald J. Young, 70, of North Port, Fla., and Alexandria Bay, N.Y., and formerly of Tully, N.Y., passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2003.
      He was born July 3, 1933, in Fairfield, N.Y., the son of Ralph and Mable Horr Young. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 to 1956. He married Barbara Ryan on Aug. 22, 1959. Mr. Young was employed as an operating engineer for IUOE Local 545 in Syracuse, N.Y. He was also employed as a wage investigator for the New York State Labor Department until his retirement in 1999.
      Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ryan; daughter, Ellen (Donald) Nash of Ballston Lake, N.Y.; sons, Robert Young of Greene, N.Y., and Richard (Karen) Young of Mistley, England; sister, Virginia Maxwell of Hurleyville, N.Y.; grandsons, Shawn Nash, Connor Nash and Joshua Young; granddaughters, Brianna Young, Mary Young and Molly Young; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Harold Court.
      Memorial services will be held in the springtime in New York.
      In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bon Secours-Venice Hospital Foundation, 540 The Rialto, Venice, FL 34285; or Shriners Hospital for Children, 12502 Pine Drive, Tampa, FL 33612.
      Arrangements are by National Cremation Society of Port Charlotte, Fla.
