      SPENCER, Nora M.
      Nora M. Spencer, 92, of Peoria, IL, formerly of East Hartford, beloved wife of John J. Spencer (deceased), died peacefully at home Wednesday (September 26, 2001). She was born in Ventry, County Kerry, Ireland, daughter of the late Elizabeth Hoar Murphy and Lawrence Murphy. She was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother as well as a genuine friend to her neighbors for 50 years on Springside Avenue, East Hartford. She was a life-long member of St. Mary's Church in East Hartford for 50 years. She is survived by her loving daughters, Elizabeth Totten of Coventry, Margaret Daken of Peoria, IL, with whom she made her home for the past two years and Anne Murray of South Windsor. She will be greatly missed by her adoring grandsons and daughter-in-law, John and Jennifer Totten of Bristol, Jamie Murray of Peoria, IL, James Totten of Norwalk, Brian Murray of Southport, and Kevin Daken of Peoria, IL.

      No greater love exists than a mother's dedication to her family''. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 2, at St. Mary's Church, East Hartford. There are no calling hours at the request of the family. Charitable contributions may be made in her name to Connecticut Children's Medical Center Foundation, 12 Charter Oak Place, Hartford, CT 06106. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Hartford. Callahan Funeral Home, 1602 Main St., has charge of the arrangements.
