      WERNER, Pastor Cecil O.
      Allegan, MI
      Passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2004 in Kalamazoo. Mr. Werner was born February 23, 1912 in Casco Township, to William and Blanche (Davis) Werner, and was a lifelong resident of the area. Cecil spent his working years farming, was an auctioneer, and operated a pony racetrack, Watson Raceway. For ten years he served as minister at the Watson Country Chapel. On December 20, 1933 he married Katherine Cramer, who passed away in 1997. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Barbara Morris; and by 2 brothers and 3 sisters, Harold, Leo, Bernice, Ruby and Beulah. Surviving are 2 daughters, Frances (Dayton) Hoard of Paw Paw, and Wilma (Dutch) Perring of Allegan; a son, Martin Curtis of Cincinnati, OH; 6 grandchildren, Bonnie, Bill, Beverly, Kay, Dan, and Judy; many great-and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Winkel Funeral Home Otsego where Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Pastor Bill McKay officiating. Interment will follow at Miner Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made toward the family's expenses.
