      Clara Hoar
      HIAWATHA --- Clara Amanda Hoar, 87, Hiawatha, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000, at a Sabetha nursing home.
      Mrs. Hoar worked 25 years as a certified nurse aid at Oakridge Acres Nursing Home in Hiawatha.
      She was born Nov. 17, 1912, in Willis, the daughter of Christopher Antone and Ida Sophia Knudson Tollefson. She graduated from Willis High School, and later from Strickler Business College in Topeka.

      Hoar was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Everest and the senior citizen club in Hiawatha.
      She married Ivan Allen Hoar on Oct. 25, 1937, at Everest. He preceded her in death Sept. 23, 1963.
      Survivors include four daughters, Janice Elaine, Wichita, Jeanette Ellen, Lincoln, Neb., Marilyn Kay, Topeka, and Sandra Sue, Scottsdale, Ariz.; a brother, Alvin Tollefson, Lawrence; a sister, June Cox, Belleville, Ill.; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
      Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Everest. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha. Mrs. Hoar will lie in state after 9 a.m. Saturday at Framke-Casselman-Meek Funeral Home in Hiawatha where visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
      Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church in Everest and sent in care of the funeral home.

      Deceased Name: CHARLES IVAN "TOLLY" TOLLEFSON
      CHARLES IVAN "TOLLY" TOLLEFSON, 78, died April 13, 1997, in Colorado Springs after a long illness. He was a retired Army lieutenant colonel, having served 24 years.
      Scripture services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Blunt Mortuary Chapel, 2229 W. Colorado Ave. Burial and services will be in Everest, Kan.
      Mr. Tollefson was born March 3, 1919, in Horton, Kan., to Christopher and Ida (Knudson) Tollefson.
      He was married Sept. 17, 1944, in Fort Benning, Ga., to Patricia (Hughes) Tollefson, who lives in Colorado Springs.
      He also is survived by three daughters, Marcia Lowe of Anchorage, Alaska, Mary McCurdy of Colorado Springs and Patty Brown of Glenwood Springs; a brother, Alvin of Lawrence, Kan.; two sisters, Clara Hoar of Hiawatha, Kan., and June Cox of Belleville, Ill.; six grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
      Mr. Tollefson served during World War II and the Korean War, earning numerous awards. He enjoyed farming, gardening and fishing.
      He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
      Mr. Tollefson had lived in Colorado Springs since 1961.
