    Eleanor L. Mishio, 85, of Washington Avenue died Saturday at a Portland nursing home.
    She was born in Machias, a daughter of Clifford and Mildred Hoar Foss, and attended Portland schools.
    Mrs. Mishio was a housekeeper and helped to raise the children of the Chabeau and Skillings families of South Portland.
    She was active in the Foster Grandparents Association before she became ill and attended Holy Cross Church in South Portland.
    Her husband, Archie Mishio, died in 1965. A son, Donald, died in 1951.
    Surviving are three sons, Clifford Mishio of Utah, Ronald Mishio of Portland and Herbert Stinson of Portland; two daughters, Virginia Macomber and Elaine Tucker, both of Portland; a brother, Clifford Foss of Kansas City, Mo.; 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
    A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland. Arrangements are by Hay & Peabody, Portland.

    Mildred E. Coons, 92 SOUTH PORTLAND -- Mildred E. Coons, 92, formerly of Landry Village, South Portland, died Monday at a South Portland Nursing Home. She was born in South Portland, the daughter of Forest C. and Ethel D. Clary Hoar. Mildred was educated in the South Portland Schools and graduated from South Portland High School in 1934. For many years she worked at Carolyn's in Cape Elizabeth and the Cumberland Club in Portland. She was predeceased by her husband Walter E. Coons in 2001; her sisters, Shirley Titcomb and Edith Chapman and a brother, Clayton Hoar. She is survived by two sons, Ralph W. Coons of Cathedral City, Calif., Gary E. Coons and his wife Eileen of South Portland; a brother, Stuart Orr of South Portland; three grandchildren, Paul E. Coons of Scarborough, Todd J. Coons of Windham and Samantha Jean Smith of Falmouth; four great- grandchildren, Sarah E. Coons, Christian Coons, Samuel Coons and Paige E.G. Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 10, at the Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Rd., South Portland. Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Saturday, April 11, at the funeral home.     Clayton F. Hoar, 77
    PORTLAND - Clayton F. Hoar, 77 years of age of Devonshire Street in Portland died Friday morning, November 23, 2007 at the Seaside Nursing Care Facility.
    He was born in South Portland, on September 26, 1930 the son of Forest and Ethel Clairy Hoar. He attended schools in South Portland where he played basketball at South Portland High.
    Clayton had worked several years at the Burham and Morrill Company in Portland and worked many years as a welder at South Portland Engineering which was bought by G.E.
    He was a member of the Eagles in Portland and enjoyed hunting. During his younger years he had coached little league.
    Clayton was predeceased by two brother, Russell and Gregory and a sister, Irene Libby.
    He is survived by his wife, Helen Mace Hoar whom he married on March 4, 1949. Also surviving are three sons: Clayton and Richard Hoar both of Portland and Lee Forest also of Portland and one daughter, Patricia Hill of Portland; one sister, Mildred Coons and one brother, Stuart Orr both of South Portland; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
    Relatives and friends are invited to call at the chapel of Independent Death Care, 471 Deering Avenue on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007 from 12 noon until 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Brooklawn Memorial Park.

    Frances B. Quinlan, 75, of Mechanic Street, died Saturday at a Portland hospital following a long illness.
    She was born in Portland, a daughter of Harold and Edith Hoar Bennett, attended Westbrook schools and was a 1941 graduate of Westbrook High School.
    Mrs. Quinlan served in the WAVES during World War II. She was employed at the former Dana Warp Mill and later for 31 years with Burnham and Morrill, retiring in 1984.
    She was a member of WAVES National, the 25-Year Club of Burnham and Morrill and the Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church. An ardent Celtics fan, she was active in the Meals on Wheels program and enjoyed gardening and candlepin bowling.
    Surviving are three sons, Terry A. Quinlan, Roland J. Quinlan and Darryl T. Quinlan, all of Westbrook; and several grandchildren.
    Visiting hours will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hay Funeral Home, Westbrook. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

    Gregory was known as a 'people person', and a wonderful husband and father. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, and especially enjoyed the time he spent with his dog, Tiger, and his cat, Taz.
