[[Irene Leary, 93
Irene M.
Gigi'' Leary, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Saturday surrounded by her loving family. She was 93 years young.
Despite her lack of a continued formal edu cation and a valid dri ver's license, Irene stood out as one of the pre miere people in our lives. She was a simple
Cousin Jenny'' who loved an effortless cup of tea and a sweet piece of cake or cookie.
Irene Myrtle Hoar was born July 18, 1908, in Walkerville to William S. and Emily Harris Hodge Hoar. She graduated from Sherman Grade School and attended local high schools. She met the love of her life, James J. Leary, in Butte and they married March 3, 1928, in Anaconda. She had a baby of her own at home, but had extra breast milk, so she helped keep another baby alive by walking from her home north of Walkerville to the old St. James Hospital at least three times a day in order to feed the baby.
As a young woman she worked as a clerk at Symon's Department Store, but her life-long occupation was being a devoted partner to her husband James in the labor movement. She and James could always be counted upon to walk any picket line or work any handbill line for the AFL-CIO Union. She enjoyed crocheting blankets for all the grandchildren and at Christmas time she would make sequin calendars for the coming New Year.
She brought us all together and gave us strength and taught us the meaning of life. She will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Leary in 1985; sisters, Rena Prophet, Mildred Finberg, Audrey Carlyon; brothers, Alvin, Russell, Ervin and William Hoar; an infant son and daughter; and beloved grand son, Jay Leary.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James and Mary Leary, Helena; daughters and son-in-law, Donna and Don Dwyer, Whitehall, Betty Moore, Walkerville; grandchildren and their spouses, Don and Sally Dwyer, Diane and Joe Mullaney, Danette and Shawn Gleason, all of Butte, Denise and Steve Chrest, Lewistown, Frankie Moore, Vancouver, Wash.; great-grandchildren the lights of her life,'' Stephanie, David and Shannon Dwyer, Lacie, Jason and Tyler Mullaney, Donica, Jory and Keeley Chrest, Zach and Zane Gleason; brother-inlaw and sister-in-law, John and Rose Leary, Butte; and numerous special nieces and nephews.
Her remains have been cremated. Family memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in WayrynenRichards Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery where she will join her husband James.
God permits, Gigi, see you in the morning.'' And remember, we all love you!

Obituary:
Daniel R. Hart, former Butte resident, succumbed to his third battle with cancer, surrounded by his family, on July 30, 2011, in Garden City, Idaho.
Dan was born Dec. 4, 1960, to Darlene J. (Hoar) Hart and the late Thomas R. Hart in Butte. He attended Monroe and Webster-Garfield elementary schools, East and West junior high schools, and graduated from Butte High School in 1979.
He was a "Butte boy, born and raised" and was able to express his talents in many ways. Dan's attraction to music began at the very young age of four and became one of his passions in life. His musical gift allowed him to become an extremely accomplished musician on numerous instruments, while playing
professionally in Butte as well as Salt Lake City and Boise, Idaho. Dan continued to share his love of music by writing, composing and performing many of his own creations for everyone to enjoy.
Dan also had a love for the open road of which he thoroughly embraced while riding his motor-cycles. Dan often referred to this pleasure as his "therapy" and considered this adventure his very own "heaven on earth." Dan also had a unique knack for remembering certain quotes from favorite TV shows and movies and was often victorious against his brothers in a friendly competition of who said what.
Always eager to pursue his dreams further, Dan was also actively studying and preparing to obtain his pilot's license, but unfortunately was unable to continue as his health prevented this dream from becoming reality.
Dan's exceptional electronic aptitude was his bread and butter; he could make a ham radio out of a toaster. Dan left Butte in 1982, and became an all-night disc jockey in Bountiful, Utah, until he transitioned into his
current profession as field service engineer. Dan was recognized and respected professionally while working for National Semiconductor in Salt Lake, and Zilog and DNS Screen, both located in Boise.
Solitude and relaxation were joys that he relished tremendously while camping or in the company of his wife, Bobbi, and their beloved pets/companions, Emer and Pickles. Dan would warm your heart with a generous smile and wonderful sense of humor as it was often accompanied with a dash of dry wit and a sprinkle of sarcasm.
"Dan is a star in the face of the sky."
Dan was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Russell S. and Lillian Hoar; and uncles, Russell E. Hoar and William Hart.
Dan is survived and will forever be loved and missed by his wife, Bobbi Hart; stepdaughter, Sunni Pacific; loving mother, Darlene Hart, Butte; brothers, Michael Hart, Port Orchard, Wash., and Thomas (Peggie) Hart, Butte; sister, Lori (Dave) Cashell, Butte; mother-in-law, Patsy Groves, Portland, Ore.; sister-in-law, Suzanne (Hans) Dittrich, Emmett, Idaho; aunt, Emily Wilson, Tucson, Ariz.; nephews and nieces, Thomas J. (Crystal) Hart, Jamie Hart (Travis) Slivka, Breanne and Brody Hart, Kacee, Karlee, Chelbe and
Coby Cashell; and great-nephews and -nieces, Cody and Sam Slivka, and Sage, Tyler and Jade Hart.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Duggan Dolan Mortuary.
Memorials or donations in Dan's memory may be given to the Shriners Hospital, American Cancer Society, a local hospice, or a charity of the donor's choice.
