OGDENSBURG ADVANCE NEWS Ogdensburg, New York
Sunday March 14, 1948
Widow of Mayor Hoard passed away at family home on the Crescent during the week at the age of 87 after a lengthy illness. She was president of the Society of United Helpers 22 years, a former member of the board of education and a leader in church, welfare and social circles. She and her late husband moved here from Chicago in 1910. They had no children. A sister, Mrs. George Keates of Hingham, Mass., survives. She was a sister-in-law of Mrs. F.W. Lomax, who lived with her, and aunt of Mrs. H.P. Strong. The funeral was Friday afternoon at the house, the Rev. George A. Palmer, rector of St. John's Church, conducting services.
Interment will be in the family plot in the Ogdensburg Cemetery later this spring.
