    I think (note!) that she was one of the daughters of Leonard Hoar Jr. and his wife Dorcas. Many of the Hoar families in the area of Onondaga and Cortland County, NY, had their surname legally changed to Hobart in the early 1830s. Leonard was likely the one who had his name changed in the 1833 session of the legislature (see Chapter 22 of that session).
