    Deceased Name: Jeanette Launsby
    The funeral for Jeanette I. (Robertson) Launsby, 91, of Lyons will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Lyons.
    She died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
    She was born April 20, 1915, in rural Lyons to Alex and May (Hoar) Robertson. She attended grade school and high school in Lyons and graduated from Lyons High School in 1933. She married Rudolph Launsby on March 17, 1941. They farmed in the Basford area north of Divide Center. In 1968, she was divorced and moved to Lyons. She was employed at Logan Valley Manor from 1973-92, when she retired. In 2005, she became a resident of Logan Valley Manor.
    She had been a member of the Presbyterian Church since 1971.
    Survivors include: six sons, Richard of Tekamah, David of Homer, Darrell (and wife, Carol) and John, all of Lyons, Dale (and wife, Nancy) of Omaha and Robert (and wife, Diane) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Virginia Launsby of Lyons; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and her husband.
    Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Thursday at Pelan Funeral Services in Lyons with family receiving friends from 7-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Friday at the church. Burial will be in Lyons Cemetery.
    A memorial has been established to First Presbyterian Church, 340 Everett St., Lyons, NE 68038.

    Deceased Name: Sandra Emry
    WAYNE, Neb. -- Sandra Havekost Emry, 73, of Wayne died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at Providence Medical Center in Wayne.
    Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Wayne. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation with the family will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne.
    Sandra Jean Emry was born July 10, 1937, in Walthill, Neb., to Bernard and Bernice (Hoar) Havekost. She graduated from Hooper High School in 1954 and attended Wayne state College, earning a teaching certificate.
    She taught country school until marrying Arnold Emry on May 22, 1955, in Hooper, Neb. Their first home was in Pilger, Neb,. and subsequent moves were made to Allen, Neb., Newell, Iowa, Vermillion, S.D., then to Wayne for her remaining years. Sandra graduated from Wayne State college in 1991. She was employed by Mines Jewelry, Sav-Mor Drug and then owned and operated the Near New Shop and later Kid's Closet.
    Sandra was not only a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, giver of produce from her garden and flower beds, surrogate mother to many people, provider of baked goods, cooking and sewing expertise. She taught many classes on crocheting and knitting and also was an expert source of how to get things done.
    Sandra is survived by her husband, Arnold; children, Patricia (James) McPherson of Lincoln, Neb., Gordon (Robin) Emry of Norfolk, Neb., Bradley (Kathleen) Emry of Isle of Palms, S.C., and Shelley (Terry) Gilliland of Wayne; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Larsen of Hooper, Shirley (Bill) Bauer of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Belva Licht of Omaha; stepsister, Annette (Ed) Probasco of Scribner, Neb.; sisters-in-law, Barb Havekost of Greenbelt, Md., and Monya Havekost of Columbia, S.C.; numerous nephews and nieces; and longtime friend, Jean Hemmingsen of Storm Lake, Iowa.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; half brother, John Havekost; stepbrother, Bernard Klahn; and brother-in-law, Delbert Larsen.
    Memorials will be directed to the Wayne First United Methodist Church for their youth programs.
