Deceased Name: Jeanette Launsby
The funeral for Jeanette I. (Robertson) Launsby, 91, of Lyons will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Lyons.
She died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
She was born April 20, 1915, in rural Lyons to Alex and May (Hoar) Robertson. She attended grade school and high school in Lyons and graduated from Lyons High School in 1933. She married Rudolph Launsby on March 17, 1941. They farmed in the Basford area north of Divide Center. In 1968, she was divorced and moved to Lyons. She was employed at Logan Valley Manor from 1973-92, when she retired. In 2005, she became a resident of Logan Valley Manor.
She had been a member of the Presbyterian Church since 1971.
Survivors include: six sons, Richard of Tekamah, David of Homer, Darrell (and wife, Carol) and John, all of Lyons, Dale (and wife, Nancy) of Omaha and Robert (and wife, Diane) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Virginia Launsby of Lyons; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and her husband.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Thursday at Pelan Funeral Services in Lyons with family receiving friends from 7-8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Friday at the church. Burial will be in Lyons Cemetery.
