Deceased Name: LEINER, Doris J., of Grand Blanc, formerly of Flushing; beloved wife, cherished mother, and precious grandmother, age 80, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Brian's House Hospice after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
LEINER, Doris J., of Grand Blanc, formerly of Flushing; beloved wife, cherished mother, and precious grandmother, age 80, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Brian's House Hospice after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 Holly Rd., Grand Blanc. Rev. Gerald Harms will officiate. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. Monday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in Flushing Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Brian's House Hospice, Faith Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society. Doris was born in Owosso, Michigan on July 13, 1930, the daughter of George and Hattie (Hoard) Kendall. She married Charles Leiner in Owosso at Salem Lutheran Church on August 22, 1948. Doris was a longtime founding member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Flushing and was a current member of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc. Her passion and joy in life was ministering and caring for others through her countless acts of kindness. Doris was happiest when her family was gathered together for celebrations and holidays. She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends. Doris is survived by: husband, Chuck; three children, Gary and wife Nancy Ann Leiner of Bay City, Pamala and husband Robert Legutko of Grand Blanc, Timothy Leiner of Grand Blanc; four grandchildren, Jodi and Jack Leiner, Alexandra and Vanessa Legutko; special nieces and nephews and many special friends in Christ. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Sam Kiran, M.D. for his compassionate care.
