P. Walrad and Mr. W. R Curtis of Cortland, and a nephew of the late Manley Hobart of Homer. Tho cause of his death was peritonitis and he had been ill but two weeks. The doctor was born in Arcade, Wyoming county, N. Y., Aug, 11, 1851. When fourteen years old he moved with his parents to Grinnell, la. He was graduated with highest honor from Iowa college and from the Hahnemann Medical college of Chicago and has since practiced medicine with great success in Chicago. He stood high in his profession and was recognized by all who knew him as a sincere and conscientious man and a thorough Christian gentleman.
