She was born April 27, 1933, in Mechanicsburg, the daughter of Pierce and Christine (Moody) Gannon. Janet was a 1951 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School. She married Kenneth McDonald on November 23, 1957, in Springfield. Janet retired from Mercy Medical Center and was a member of the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church and Caroline Chapter #39 Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughter, Kristine (Tom) Allbright of Mechanicsburg; son, Michael McDonald, also of Mechanicsburg; grandchildren Adam & Abigail Allbright; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; special friend, Pearl "Buck" Davis; as well as many close special friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sisters, Florence Maxwell and Ruth Ann Lemons, and her brothers, Paul (Rosemary) Gannon and Edwin (Jane) Gannon. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, September 20, 2012, in the Mechanicsburg United Methodist Church with Rev Dr Harley Roston and Pastor Lorraine Zimmerman officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Eastern Star services will be offered by Caroline Chapter 39 at the start of the memorial service. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
