      Funeral Services for Keith O. Hoard will be conducted from the First Baptist Church in Oxford, Nebraska on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Hunt, officiating. Interment will be held in the Oxford Cemetery with military honors provided by the Oxford American Legion Post #219 in conjunction with the United States Army National Guard Military Honors Team.
      Keith Orville Hoard, 81 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Harlan County Health Systems in Alma, Nebraska. Keith was born on March 9, 1929 at Minneapolis, Kansas the 9th of 14 children born to Andrew and Minnie (Smith) Hoard. He attended school at Miltonville and other towns in north central Kansas.
      Keith was inducted into the U. S. Army on June 7, 1951 and served his country during the Korean War until his honorable discharge on May 1, 1953. He was awarded the Korean Services medal with 2 bronze service stars and the United Nations Service Medal.
      On October 3, 1951, Keith was united in marriage to Mona Arlene Mohler at Mankato, Kansas and to this union eight children were born: five daughters: Elaine, Wanda, Carla, Glenda and Vickie and three sons: Daniel, Rodney and Bradley.
      Keith was employed as a detailer at Beardmore's Chevrolet Dealership in Mankato, Kansas, and later transferred to Beardmore's in Oxford. He was then employed as an auto body repairman at Robertson Chevrolet in Oxford. In 1971, he began working at Becton-Dickinson in Holdrege until his retirement in 1994.
      Keith was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oxford. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with his children and grandchildren, gardening, especially his Hibiscus plants, and loved to hunt and fish.
      Besides his parents, Keith was preceded in death by four brothers: Charles Hoard, Elmer Hoard, Earl Hoard, Harry Lee Hoard; two sisters: Ethel Mikesell, Junelda Dillon; three sister-in-laws: Ruth Hoard, Barbara Hoard, Avis Hoard; seven brothers-in-law: Dale Olsen, Ray Howell, Warren Taylor, Charles Mikesell, Virgil Mohler and his wife, Ada, Leland Turner and Duane Wiley; one son-in-law: Randy Brink and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Harold and Sylvia Mohler.
      He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mona of Oxford; children: Elaine Hopkins and her husband, Steve of Holdrege, Wanda Foster and her husband, Dale of Oxford, Carla Herrick of Lexington, Nebraska, Glenda Hamilton and her husband, Ed of Oxford, Vickie Foster and her husband, Bob of Holdrege, Daniel Hoard and his wife, Kate of St. Francis, Kansas, Rodney Hoard and his wife, Sandi of Alma, Nebraska, Bradley Hoard and his wife, Silvia of Merna, Nebraska; 29 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; three brothers: Andy Hoard, Jr. of Smith Center, Kansas, Floyd Hoard of Denver, Colorado, Dean Hoard and his wife, Letha of Ft. Collins, Colorado; four sisters: Martha Jane Olsen of Miltonvale, Kansas, Bertha Mae Howell of Greeley, Colorado, Evelyn Rafferty and her husband, Richard of Blue Springs, Missouri, Jean Taylor of Concordia, Kansas; four sisters-in-law: Leona Hoard of Miltonville, Margaret Hoard of Moberly, Missouri, Marian Turner of Hastings, Nebraska and Eva Wiley of Cawker City, Kansas; two brothers-in-law: Bill Dillon of Mankato and Vernon Mohler and his wife, Mary Jane of Superior, Nebraska and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
      Visitation will be held at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. ? 6:00 p.m.
      A memorial has been established in his memory and will be designated at a later date.
