      6 Aug 2003 Carthage Press(Carthage, Mo.) LaRenda Florence Wertko
      LaRena Florence Wertko, 88, died at 10:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2003, at Cartahge Nursing and Rehab. She was born March 12, 1915 in Woodston, Kan. to Harvey and Mary (Hoar) Allen. Mrs. Wertko graduated high school in 1932. She attended Salt Lake City Business College in Hutchinson, Kan. She later attended South Western Bible College in Enid, Okla. She worked several years with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. She entered full time ministry after she met and married Rev. Mike Allen Wertko. They worked in Ark., Okla, Texas, and other states as her husband led in evangelistic and pastoral work. They were married for nearly 50 years. They were laborers together for God. He preceded her in death Aug. 6, 1990. Mrs. Wertko was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
      She is survived by a son, David Wertko, Cartahge, and a sister, Laura E. Price.
      She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Rosemary Ann Wertko, Feb. 28, 1944, at birth.
      Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12 at Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is open.
