      Obituary:
      Daily Independent, The (Ashland, KY) - June 16, 2010
      Lawrence Lee "Larry" Reeves, 69, of Ashland, Ky., formerly of Vero Beach, Fla., died Tuesday morning, June 15, 2010, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
      He was born Oct. 11, 1940, in Ashland. He was preceded in death by his father, Alonzo G. Reeves; his mother, Nannie Dean Reeves Horr; his stepfather, Arthur Horr; and a sister, Ruby Jean Reeves.
      He was a retired welder, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Holy Family Church in Ashland, Eagles 4067 and VFW Post 10210, both in Sebastian, Fla., the American Legion and the Moose lodge of Micco, Fla.
      Larry was a well-known musician and vice president of the Sunshine State Country Music Association.
      Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Janet Ramey Reeves of Ashland; a son, William Scott Reeves of Vero Beach; a daughter, Laura Jane Reeves of Ashland; sisters Mahala Jane "Polly" Johnson, Artie Withrow and husband Butch and Sara Ramey and husband Clyde Sr., all of Ashland; and four grandchildren, Stephanie Nicole Reeves, Jared Smith, Dustin Lee Jackson and Reva Renee Reeves.
      A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel in Ashland by Father John Noe.
      Visitation will be an hour before the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
      Military honors will be provided by American Legion Kenova Post 93.
      In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Larry's name to a charity of choice.
