      ALMA MAGDALAN (HOAR) HOOVER, 97 ROCKFORD - Alma Magdalan (Hoar) Hoover, 97, of Rockford died at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, in Neighbors Nursing Home in Byron. Born May 10, 1910, in Mystic, Iowa, daughter of Thomas and Nora McConville Hoar. Magdalan married Merle Hoover on Dec. 6, 1930, in Rockford. Survivors include daughters, Kay Huntley of Arkansas, Joanne Rowe and special friend, Jerry Bast, of Rockford; sons, Ed and Ruthe Hoover of Michigan and Jim and Kim Hoover of Rockford; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ed and Jo McConville of Arizona; sisters-in-law, Virginia Hoar of Roscoe, Mary Hoar of Rockford, Mary Jane (Hoar) Crenlin of Florida and Bonnie Hoover of Champaign Urbana. Predeceased by parents; husband; infant daughter, Nora Lee; brothers, Earl and Norma Hoar, Jim and Isabella Hoar, Charles and Audrey Hoar, LaVerne Hoar and Robert Hoar. Special thank you to the caring, loving staff of Neighbors Nursing Home, Northern Illinois Hospice and Ogle County Hospice. Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, in Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home, 304 N. 5th St. in Rockford, with visitation from 10 a.m. to time of service; Pastor Bill Rowe, her grandson, will officiate.
