      Jury Upholds Hoard's Will
WHITE ' PLAINS? A Surrogate's Court jury Wednesday held valid a codicil to the will of Prescott Dyet Hoard of Mount Vernon, who died on Nov. 10, 1944 in the Christian Science Benevolent Association sanitorium, Brookline, Mass. The will and codicil disposing of an estate estimated at more than $15,000, was admitted to probate by Surrogate Charles H: Griffiths, who presided at the weeklong trial. It makes a bequest of $1,000 to the sanitorium and leaves the remainder of the estate of Mrs. Mae K. Serby of 64 Kensington Road, Bronxville. Mr. Hoard and his wife made identical wills each bequeathing all to the survivor. The codicil, reaffirming the will but providing for the distribution to the sanitorium' and Mrs. Serby in the event that Mrs. Hoard died before her husband, was made on Oct. 13, 1944, while Mr. Hoard was at the sanitorium. Mrs. Hoard died in Mount Vernon on Oct. 30.1944. "
The contest was brought by Amos Prescott Loomis and Helen Marion McKelvey, both of Gouvenejir, N. Y., first cousins of Mr. Hoard. Another first cousin, Nellie Hoard Weaver of Herkimer, did not join in the contest.
