Golden Wedding To Be Celebrated At Home In Levering. The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Schmalzried will be celebrated by a family dinner and open house at their Levering home on Monday afternoon and evening, September 27. Born at Adrian, Mr. Schmalzried came to Northern Michigan in 1879 and settled on a farm which was his home until recent years. Mrs. Schmalzried, the former Emma Carlton, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Carlton, was born in Bliss township, Emmet county in 1879. They were married by the Rev. George A. Weaver at his home in Petoskey on Sept. 27, 1898, and made their home on a farm following the wedding. The Schmalzrieds have three children; Mrs. J. V. Harcourt, of Lincoln Park, Mervyn Theodore, who lives on the old farm home in Carp Lake township, and Mrs. Gordon Marshall, of Levering. They also have six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Friends and neighbors are cordially invited to attend the open house golden wedding celebration on Monday.
