      BOSCAWEN - Roland Dana "Joe" Bartlett, 74, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at New England Heart Institute of Catholic Medical Center in Manchester.
      He was born July 24, 1936, in Boscawen, son of Arthur E. and Iyla L. (Hanson) Bartlett. He was a 1954 graduate of Penacook High School. He was a Korean veteran AFC U.S. Air Force. Joe was fire chief for 25 years of his 41 years of fire service. He was a lifelong member of the Central New Hampshire Forest Fire Wardens and was warden for more than 41 years. He was past president of the New Hampshire Association of Fire Chiefs '79-'80. He was a member of the Daniel Webster Grange for more than 50 years. He worked for Elektrisola Inc. as a millwright for 22 years.
      He was a member of the Boscawen Congregational Church, a past member of the Concord Coach Square Dancers, a past charter member of the Concord Chapter of the N.H. Gold Wing Road Riders Association, a past member of the Star Craft camping club and a member of the American Legion Post 31. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, restoring old tractors and spending time at their Pittsburg camp.
      He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur E. and Iyla; brother, Myron (Mike) and his wife, Alice Bartlett Kingsbury; brother, Arthur Jr. and his wife, Marion; and brother, Harland.
      Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Brenda (Bellman), his daughter, Tracy Jo, his son, Todd and wife, Susan, all of Boscawen; and granddaughters, Nichociana Jo Hoar, Shelly Bill and significant other, Tommy Waterman, and her daughters, Taylar and Lauren of Boscawen, Stephanie Hollins and significant other, Edward Gillis, and daughter, Sophia, and son, Ian, of Nashua; brother, Lewis and his wife, Edna, of Boscawen; sisters, Beverly Welcome of Concord and Marilyn DeLew of Fort Meyers, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
      Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wendell J Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook.
      Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Boscawen Congregational Church, followed by a committal service at the Chapel at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery.
