      Deceased Name: HOWARD BRACKBILL, OWNED RONKS GARAGE
      Howard W. Brackbill, 64, of Elk Grove, died late Tuesday in Bloomsburg Hospital, where he had been a patient since Dec. 13. He had been in ill health for the past six months.
      Brackbill was the owner and operator of the former Howard Brackbill Garage, Ronks. He had worked there most of his life with his father and had owned the business from 1973 until 1987. He also had worked in the shipping and receiving department of James W. Wild Co. for more than 10 years until his retirement in 1998.
      He had served in the U.S. Army.
      He was affiliated with Stillwater Christian Church.
      An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a Lancaster area high school graduate.
      Born in Lancaster, he was a son of the late Howard and Elizabeth Hoar Brackbill.
      He was married to Elta Mae Burkholder Brackbill for 19 years on May 2.
      Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Ronald W. of Strasburg, and Robert D. of New Holland; a daughter, Denise, married to Raymond Geiter of Paradise; nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Janet, married to Harold Cosby of Paradise, and Doris, married to Richard Witgenstein of Marietta.
