      Deceased Name: Alma Liedtke
      KERRVILLE - Alma (Ann) Liedtke died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, in Kerrville, Texas, after living 94 active years.
      Ann was born in Bolton, Lancashire, England, to Arthur and Evelyn Anning on Aug. 28, 1917. Her father ran Anning Shipping Company, which was established in the late 1800s. Her father died when Ann was 13, and she and the family moved to London. Ann was working for Westminster Bank in Oxford, England, in 1944 during World War II when she met her future husband, Chet Liedtke, who was in the Air Force. Ann helped to start the first American Red Cross chapter in Oxford during World War II.
      Chet and Ann were married in Oxford on Feb. 17, 1945. Chet returned home to South Dakota in September 1945, and Ann came to South Dakota in February 1946. They farmed and ranched south of Miller, S.D., for many years. They started going to Texas in the winter of 1979 and settled in Kerrville in 1984.
      Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Chet, in 1998.
      She is survived by her two sons, Roy and his wife, Amy of Whitesboro, Texas, and Brian and his wife, Jodi of Glenham, S.D. In addition, she is survived by Brian's children, her grandson, Jed Liedtke and his wife, Tammy and two great-granddaughters, Sydnie and Tayla of Mitchell, S.D.; and her granddaughter, Kisha and her husband, Dan Hoar and two great-granddaughters, Sarah and Claire of Sioux Falls, S.D.
      A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, at the Trinity Baptist Church.
