Loren Lee 'Bo' Laird
MILES CITY - Loren Lee "Bo" Laird, age 68, of Miles City passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bo was born in Miles City on April 13, 1931, the son of Glen and Nina (Horr) Laird. He attended Lincoln Elementary, Washington Junior High, and Custer County High School. Following graduation, he attended the University of Montana, University of Perugia, State University of Madrid, and California State University. Bo entered the United States Army in 1953 and served two years. Bo married Sigrid Ragna Rivenes in Miles City on Dec. 27, 1961.
Bo was very active in the school system and coached swimming, tennis, track, basketball, baseball, football, and speech and debate.
Bo is survived by his wife, Sigrid of Miles City; three daughters: Stephanie Pratt and her husband, Greg and son, Zachariah of California; Bridget Laird and her husband, David Batchelder and their son, Angus of New Hampshire; and Cameron Laird of California; and a son, David Laird, and his wife, Amy and their children: Lauren, Jacob, and Kyra of Washington; two sisters: Florence Hicks of Oregon and Murial Malcolm of Washington; two brothers: Glen Laird of Miles City and Walton Laird of Billings; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Joyce McGuire; and two brothers: Beverly Laird and Bill Laird.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. in the Custer County District High School Gymnasium with Rev. Sherwood McKay officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Custer County Cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Miles City Library or to the Letke-Armstrong Scholarship Fund.
