street has returned from
a tour of duty as pilot of a Navy
torpedo plane sed on an indcpendence-
cla&s carrier in the
Pacific.
Attached to the torpedo
squadron of Air Group #28, he
flew a General Motors-built
Avenger, which can attack with
rocket bombs, and .50 calibre
machinegun fire, as well as with
torpedoes.
Ensign Stoll, who flew 41 anti-
submarine patrols and five
combat missions, took part in
air strikes against Tinian. Sainan.
Rota. Okinawa Jima. and
Formosa On one flight, a strafing
attack, he set fire to a Japanese
merchantman.
He is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Willard F. Stoll of Corning,
and is now visiting at his home here.
