9 Nov 1911 William Irving Agard killed in auto accident near Coteau 5 Nov 1911. Service and burial Portal Presbyterian. Born in Maron County, Iowa 18 July 1875. Married Ella Horr in 1897. Came to Portal in 1902. Wife, 2 daughters, 2 brothers, one sister in Oklahoma and one sister in Iowa survive.

Contracts regarding sale of land, bills, correspondence, and legal documents regarding the sale of William I. Agard's estate, an appraisal of the Agard property, and the appointment of an executor of the estate. William I. Agard was born in Marion County, IA, July 18, 1875. He married Ella Horr on Christmas day 1897, and the couple moved to Portal, ND, in May 1902. William worked for several years for the Canadian Pacific Railway on the Soo Line Railroad. He was working as a night watchman for the town of Portal until his death in an automobile accident near Coteau on November 5, 1911. G. W. Rhodes was appointed General Administrator of the estate. The papers were removed from the Burke County Clerk of Court, Civil Case Files.
