HOLTON -- Wilmer Ross "Hack" Wilson, 86, Goff, formerly of Holton, died Sunday, June 20, 1999, at a hospital in Topeka.
He was born July 29, 1912, in Holton, to Ross Frank and Elizabeth Nelson Wilson, and he spent most of his life in the Holton community. He was a farmer, and later he worked as a carpenter and a painter. He became an auctioneer in 1964 and owned and operated White Barn Antiques in Holton before the building burned in 1989.
He married Edith I. Thornton Sept. 9, 1935, in Holton. They were divorced. A granddaughter, Terry Stewart, died in 1958. Survivors include sons, Willard D. "Willy" Wilson and Wilbur Gene Wilson, both in Holton; daughters, Rowena Horr, Topeka, and Anita Eby, Mayetta; sisters, Rosie Larrison and Hazel Young, both in Holton; 15 grandchildren; two foster grandchildren; 18 great- grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren and a great-great- granddaughter. Mr. Wilson was cremated. Graveside memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Holton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas Dialysis Services and sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
