Russell was confirmed in Rev. Ira T. Gragg's first confirmation class. Rev. Gragg would later become his Father-in-Law.

Their kids threw a 45th party for them in Elsberry Missouri. On their 50th the kids had a party at Romines Restaurant in St. Louis Mo. They sure were SURPRISED!!!!!!
GEORGIE, RUSSELL C. 'GRANDPA',joined his Savior in heaven, Thurs., May 10, 2001; beloved husband of the late Virginia 'Ginny' Geogie (nee Gragg); loving father of Leslie L. (the late Charles) Briegleb, Gragg C. (Pat) Georgie and Blake I. (Carla) Georgie; very special grandpa to David C. (Chris) Briegleb, Cheryl, Christopher, Brian, Sara and Tiffany Georgie and Stefanie (Derek) Saey, Brian Self, Crystal and Brad Gildehaus; dear son-in-law of the late Rev. Ira T. and Thelma Gragg; dear companion to his faithful canine friend, Bandit and friend to many.
Russell was a WWII Navy veteran, a 50 year member of Progressive Lodge #41 I.A.M.A.W., a retired employee of Crown Cork & Seal Co. and member of Bethany-Peace UCC.
Friends are invited to join Russell's family at a memorial gathering on Sat., May 19 from 10 a.m. until a celebration of Russell's life service, 11 a.m., at Bethany-Peace UCC, 11952 Bellefontaine Rd. & Trampe (Spanish Lake).
