      Helen R. (Cote) Giroux
      Helen R. Giroux 1923 2007 CHICOPEE Helen R. (Cote) Giroux, 84, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, December 4, 2007. She was born in Holyoke on September 30, 1923, the youngest child of six to the late Adelard and Louisa (Durand) Cote. She was raised in Holyoke and graduated from Holyoke High School. She moved to the Aldenville section of Chicopee in 1962. She was a communicant of Saint Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville and a member and longtime volunteer at the Aldenville Senior Center. Her beloved husband, Ernest J. Giroux was Called Home on February 9, 1985. She leaves her loving son, David J. Giroux and his wife Joyce of Aldenville. Her two cherished grandchildren, Steven J. Giroux of Agawam and Karen M. Hoar and her husband Richard of Chicopee. Her two cherished great grandchildren, Ryan and Madison Hoar. Her dear brother, Frederick Cote of the Fairview section of Chicopee and several dear nephews and nieces. Her funeral will be held on Monday morning, December 10, 2007 at 9:15 a.m. from the St. Pierre Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, 13 Dale Street at the junction of Grattan Street in Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street in Aldenville. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street in Aldenville. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home in the Rose Chapel on Sunday, December 9, 2007 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home off of Lafayette Street. For those who prefer to make a memorial donation, they may be made in her memory to the Chicopee Council on Aging Building Fund, 7 Valley View Court, Chicopee, MA 01020.
