  [[ Her grandson's obituary: Topeka Capital-Journal, The (KS) - August 9, 2001 Deceased Name: Derek Lovelady HORTON --- Derek Joseph Lovelady, 11, Horton, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at a Horton hospital. He was born July 23, 1990, in Hiawatha, the son of Dick and Kathy Rebant Lovelady. He was scheduled to enter the fifth grade at Everest Middle School this month. Derek was a member of the United Methodist Church in Horton. Survivors include his mother and father, Kathy and Dick Lovelady, Horton; two sisters, Brianna Lovelady and Elizabeth Lovelady, both at home; a brother, Austin Lovelady, at home; grandparents, Jim and Janet Rebant, Horton, and Betty Lovelady Hoar, Hiawatha; and a great-grandfather, Dale Lewis, Horton. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Horton. Burial will be in Horton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton. Contributions may be made to the Derek Lovelady Memorial Fund to be designated later and sent in care of the mortuary.
