      Obituary:
Linda L. Hoar of Austin died on May 21, 2006 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her strong will to live and her positive attitude were a true testament to her character and an inspiration to all who knew her.

She was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 11, 1943 to the late Donald and Elnore Skiles and raised in Vandalia, Ohio. She lived in Dayton until 1977 when she married James R. Hoar and relocated to Florida with her family. In 1981, Austin, Texas became her permanent home.

She is preceded in death by her brother Donald Skiles, Jr.

Lindy is survived by her loving husband, James R. Hoar and three children; Nancy W. Floyd of Tallahassee, Florida, Nicholas E. Warring, Jr. of Round Rock, Texas and Karen E. Gage of Austin, Texas; two sons-in-law, William Floyd and Dr. Todd Gage; two grandchildren, Sierra & Michael Floyd and a sister, Bonnie Funderburg of Vandalia, OH.

She considered her family her greatest achievement. Lindy was more than just an amazing wife, mother and grandmother, she was a confidante and best friend. She had no greater joy than to spend time with her family and her beloved "girls" Daisy and Callie.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bali Netaji and the staff of the Southwest Regional Cancer Center as well as the many doctors and staff at the North Austin Medical Center.

Informal visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., to 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at Harrell Funeral Home, Austin.

Graveside services celebrating Lindy's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at Capital Memorial Gardens, 14501 N. IH 35, Austin, Texas

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
