Deceased Name: Vivian 'Ginger' Hoard
SPARTA, Wis. - Vivian "Ginger" Hoard, 80, of Sparta, died peacefully Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospice Center, La Crosse. She was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., to William and Marvel (Hoffert) Stelter. She grew up in the Ontario, Wis., area.
Ginger married Eugene Hoard on June 22, 1948. After marriage, they lived in Sparta and then lived in Janesville, Wis., for 30 years. They returned to the Sparta area in 1983. Eugene passed awayFeb. 3, 1990. She lived in Fort Atkinson, Wis., for five years and then moved north of Cataract, Wis., for nine years. She and Jim built a new home southwest of Sparta and lived there.
She is survived by a loving companion, James Ball of Sparta; two sisters, Violet Revels of Sparta and Ann (Sid) Wheeler of Somonauk, Ill.; six brothers, Donald (Cozy) Stelter of Sparta, LaVerne (Marilyn) Stelter of Janesville, James (Hilda) Stelter of Janesville, Eugene (Janette) Stelter of Ferryville, Wis., Dale (Mary) Stelter of West Yellowstone, Mont., and Bruce (Judy) Stelter of Janesville; cousins; nieces; and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Lorraine, Betty, Mary Lou, Margaret and Diane; and five brothers, William, Robert, Alton, Duane and Lester.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lanham-Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, with the Rev. Matthew E. Toso officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Sparta.
