    My [unknown manager of this geni website] mother and uncle accidentally entered the wrong Jacob in the Hoar Mausoleum family tree and now many Hoar trees carry forward the error. It is an easy error because they have the same name and similar birth dates and locations.
    The proof of who was grouped as a family is found in the aggregate of a variety of English census and parish records. The census records state who lived with whom in Cornwall as a family to reveal to us the correct family associations.

    John Hore b.1763 was the son of Matthew Hore (b.1736) and Ellenor Longman (b.1708). John was a farmer with a 30 acre farm called Grey Farm. John Hore (b.1763) married Elizabeth Nicholls. He was widowed. Their son Jacob Hore (b.1814) married Ann Luke in 1835. This Jacob worked on his father's farm and then became a miner and moved to Canada. Jacob was the subject of the story "From Cornwall to Canada".
    John Hore b.1758 in St. Austell was the son of Jacob Hore (b.1738) and Mary Mitchell. John Hore (b.1758) married Jane Tregonnan (b.1755). Their son Jacob Hore (b.1788) married Gertrude Martyn. Jacob was a steam mining engineer who lived and died in Cornwall. Jacob's sons moved to America. His son John learned steam engines from his father and became Captain John of the early Michigan mines. Captain John went first to Pennsylvania, then Michigan and Jacob's son Richard Martyn Hore (Hoar) to Canada, then Michigan.
