SUNAPEE - Francis H. Hoar, 89, of Hilltop Drive, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at his home.
He was born June 12, 1922 in Boston, the son of Francis H. and Mary (Van Emden) Hoar.
He was a Certified Public Accountant. Frank Hoar was a tax partner in the Boston Office of KPMG, an International Accounting Firm. He graduated from Somerville High School in 1940 and from Bentley School of Accounting and Finance in 1942. During his service in the U.S. Army he attended Auburn University in Auburn, Ala., under the Army Specialist Training Program. He served in WWII http://www.legacy.com/memorial-sites/ww2/?personid=154230680&affiliateID=1633> in the European Theatre of Operations with the 291st Field Artillery Observations Battalion and was awarded three Battle Stars.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rita M. (Frazer) Hoar.
Members of his surviving family include four sons and spouses, Michael Hoar and Ann Winter of Enfield, Richard and Jackie Hoar of Redlands, Calif., Gerard and Marty Hoar of New London, and Stephen and Liz Hoar of Andover, Mass. and Sunapee; his daughter and her partner, Jean M. Mayo and Gerry Dea of Londonderry; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Alice M. Harrison of Winthrop, Mass., and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be celebrated Monday, October 24, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Joachim's Parish, Sunapee, with The Rev. Peter Boucher, pastor, celebrant.
Burial will be private in the Eastman Cemetery, Sunapee.

Rita M. (Frazer) Hoar of Sunapee, N.H., died of pneumonia Sunday at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Hanover. She was 65.
Mrs. Hoar was born in Cambridge and moved to Sunapee from Stoneham in 1982. She served as a yeoman 3d class in the Navy during World War II.
She leaves her husband, Francis H.; four sons, Michael F. of Georges Mills, N.H., Richard J. of Redlands, Calif., Gerard R. of New London., N.H., and Stephen J. of Boston; a daughter, Jean M. Mayo of Londonderry, N.H.; two sisters, Loretta Frazer of Stoneham and Elizabeth Heller of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be said Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Joachim's Church, Sunapee.
