Harvey E., the second of the two children of Edgar Harvey and Jennie Desire (Stearns) Powers, was born in Hanover, Oxford, Maine, USA on May 13, 1880. He married Mary Ellen (York), born in Bethel, Oxford, Maine, USA on April 8, 1884, the daughter of Laforest and Sarah Ann (McConnell) York. Harvey lived on the farm inherited from his father, Edgar H., map location No. 110. About seven years after the death of his father on September 27, 1894, he sold out to Sumner R. Davis and left the town to further his education.
Harvey was a foreman in the Paris Mfg. Company for quite a few years, and from 1927 until his death in 1949 was registrar of deeds for Oxford County in South Paris, Oxford, Maine, USA.
He passed away on April 3, 1949 at the age of 68 and his wife Mary E. on March 1, 1942 at the age of 58.
