    Mark A. Hoar, age 44 of Rockwall, TX, passed away March 25, 2010. He was born October 3, 1965, in Mount Vernon, OH. Mark graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor's in civil engineering and was employed with Nucor Building Systems in Terrell, TX. He was a member of Lake Pointe Church and the Morris Life Group Sunday School Class.
    Mark is survived by his wife: Christine Hoar; son: Seth Hoar; and daughter: Anna Hoar, all of Rockwall, TX; his parents: David & Patricia Hoar of Mount Vernon, OH; and brothers: Michael Hoar & wife Rochelle of Mount Vernon, OH, and Matthew Hoar & wife Kellie of Pataskala, OH.
    Funeral services will be held 3:00pm, Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Lake Pointe Church Chapel with Dr. Aubrey Patterson and Barry Morris officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon at the funeral home from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Interment will be in Wilson Cemetery in Newark, OH.     Lucille Smith
    Lucille Josephine Smith, 82, of Fostoria Street, Tiffin, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2007, in Mercy Hospital of Tiffin.

    She was born March 16, 1925, in Bascom, to the now-deceased Frank and Clara (Reinhart) Lucius. On Nov. 12, 1949 in Tiffin, she married Ralph A. Smith, and he survives.

    Other survivors include two sons, Dennis (Rose) Smith and DavidSmith, both of Tiffin; five daughters, Susan (Tim) Hartschuh of Tiffin, Dianne (Thomas) Coscarelli of Shaker Heights, Judy (Peter) Corti of Chicago, Christine (Mark) Hoar of Rockwall, Texas, and Laura (Timothy) Daughenbaugh of Tucson, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren, Daniel and Tessa Hartschuh, Laura and David Coscarelli, Anthony, Philip, Paul, Mark, Stephen and Michael Smith, Melissa and Tracy Wilson, Seth and Anna Hoar and Nicholas and Kyle Daughenbaugh; four brothers, Louis (Mildred) Lucius and Francis (Susie) Lucius, both of New Riegel, Paul (Charlotte) Lucius of Burgoon and Gerald Lucius of Tiffin; and four sisters, Dorothy Clouse of New Riegel, Eileen (Ron) Kurtz of New Washington, Alma (Marion) Lucius of Tiffin and Marjorie (Bob) Sowers of Sycamore.

    She is preceded in death by one brother, Bernard Lucius.

    Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and had retired as a bookkeeper for Ralph A. Smith and Sons Inc.

    She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Rosary Altar Society, the Funeral Luncheon Committee, the Eucharistic Adoration Committee, the Festival Committee and the Allen Eiry Senior Center.

    The funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with the Rev. Timothy Ferris officiating. The rosary will be recited 15 minutes prior to Mass at the church. Burial will follow immediately in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

    Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-3113. A wake service will be Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

    Contributions may be made to Calvert Catholic Schools or to Community Hospice Care of Tiffin, in care of the funeral home.

    A funeral service for Helen Melick, 84, of Utica, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Law-Baker Funeral Home, Utica, with Bruce Hissong officiating. Entombment will be in Newark Memorial Gardens. Helen died April 4, 2008, at Knox Community Hospital, Mount Vernon. She was born Dec. 28, 1923, in Stockport, to the late Owen and Emma (Persinger) Wade. She was a member of Christian Endeavor Church, Newark, and Utica Senior Citizens.
    She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William "Bill" and Cindy Melick, of Utica; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and David Hoar, of Mount Vernon; five grandchildren, Jason (Lisa) Melick, of Blacklick, Brandie and Shanon Woodward, of Newark, Michael (Rochelle) Hoar, of Mount Vernon, Mark (Chris) Hoar, of Rockwall, Texas, and Matthew (Kellie) Hoar, of Pataskala; 13 great-grandchildren, Steve, Daniel, Brian, Seth, Ben, Joshua, Anna, Nicholas and Kelsey Hoar, Alexander David Melick, Colton, and Emma and Coen Woodward; sister, Jean Patterson, of Granville; and nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, David Bruce Melick, who passed away May 26, 2001; brothers, Ovia Wade and Arthur Mechling; and sister, Marjorie Melick.
