    Martin C Knabe the veteran piano manufacturer of Philadelphia Pa died at his late residence 637 North Eighth street shortly after o clock on Tuesday night Nov 30 from heart failure Mr Knabe who was In his seventy fourth year was born in Saxony coming to Baltimore in his fourteenth year About fifty years ago he took up his residence in Philadelphia and began the manufacture of pianos He was a member of the Harmonic Singing Society Six weeks ago he was seized with asthma which brought on congestion of the lungs He had been in thi best of health prior to this attack and his decline was rapid following it He leaves a widow and seven children The funeral took place on Friday at Oakland Cemetery.

    This cemetery was incorporated in 1851, and the final interment was made in 1921. In 1938, the remains were removed to Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Bloomall, Delaware County, PA.
    Buildings now stand on the site of the original Glenwood Cemetery.
