Source: NEHGR V. 60, pages 373-376 - Blanchard Family Records - The following items were copied by the late George Dana Boardman Blanchard of Malden, MA, a Life Member of NEHG, from an old manuscript book, once the property of Abel Blanchard of Andover, MA, now at the Bible Society, Astor Place, New York City. The book was evidently commenced by the first Samuel Blanchard of Andover, MA, and continued by members of the family.

Bible includes:
I Samuel Blanchard landed in New England on the 23rd day of June in the year 1639.
I Samuel Blanchard came to Andover with my family upon the tenth day of June in the year 1686.
I bought my horse of John Whelar upon the 18 day of March 1691.

Samuel married Mary Sweetser on 03 Jan 1654 in Charlestown or Andover,,MA. Mary died on 20 Feb 1669. [Group Sheet]

Source: NEHGR V.56, page liv: ..."Thomas (1) Blanchard, who was of French Huguenot ancestry, and who came to this country from England in 1639, in the ship "Jonathan." His wife's name was Mary. His son Samuel (2) was born in England in 1629, and came to America with his father. "

Source: NEHGR v.41, page 82 - from Massachusetts Archives, ix.4 -- Petition of Thomas Blandcher, 2-4-1646, says -- Whereas Anne Barnes of Way-hill in Hampshire, England, gave her son Richard Barnes 20 pounds and Anne Bent grandmother to said Richard gave him 16 pounds committed to the trust of John Bent with whom the said Richard hath been "mantayned since his coming into New England about seven years." -- John Bent gives security for payment when said Richard is twentyone, signed by Thomas Blancher, John Bent and Peter Noyes.

He lived in Braintree, MA from 1646 to 1651. In 1650 he purchased a house in Malden, MA. There is considerable documentation on Thomas, including his will, deeds, and a suit filed against him. Thomas Blanchard died in Charlestown, MA, 21 May 1654."

Thomas married Elizabeth. Elizabeth died before 1637 in England. [Group Sheet]
