  [[ Obituary: Intelligencer Journal-Lancaster New Era (PA) - Monday, October 8, 2012 Deceased Name: Zelma M. Hoar Zelma M. Hoar, age 95 formerly of Gap, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, October 5, 2012 at Fairmount Homes of Ephrata. She was the wife of the late George E. Hoar who passed away on November 4, 2007; at that time they had been married for 69 years. She was born in Sadsbury Township, daughter of the late Harry W. and Mary Woerth Zander. She was a member of Bellevue Presbyterian Church of Gap, where in the past she taught the children's Sunday School Class, sang in the choir and helped in the kitchen. She assisted her husband in business at the Deerskin Leather Shop of Kitchen Kettle Village, Intercourse, PA. She graduated from the former Paradise High School class of 1934. Zelma enjoyed knitting, crocheting and reading. Surviving are two children: H. Lee husband of Mary Ellen Yuninger Hoar of Covington, PA, Margaret A. wife of Paul N. Allison, Jr. of Gap, 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Mary Ann Eby and a brother Lloyd J. Zander. There will be no viewing. A memorial service will take place from the Bellevue Presbyterian Church, 810 Newport Avenue, Gap, PA on Tuesday, October 9th at 11 a.m. with Rev. William S. Davies, Jr. officiating. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be private prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Progeria Research Foundation, P.O. Box 3453, Peabody, MA 01961-3453, for Zelma's great grandsons Nathan and Bennett.
